Journalist and Trainer

My Journey as a Journalist

My journey in journalism commenced as a sports reporter for a prominent TV channel in Bangladesh. Over the years, my professional path evolved significantly. Initially focusing on national and international sports events, I gradually expanded my horizons, wearing multiple hats as a show host, researcher, and scriptwriter. This journey kindled my curiosity for other domains, particularly politics and energy.

For nearly a decade thereafter, my career took a dynamic turn as I delved into extensive coverage of national and local government elections in Bangladesh, while also reporting on pressing issues related to energy and the environment. During this phase, I had the privilege of reporting on matters concerning the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Over the last six years, I have been a part of Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcaster. In my capacity as a bilingual reporter proficient in both Bengali and English, my roles have encompassed a wide spectrum, including news editing, video reporting for both television and digital platforms, and managing social media. Presently, my emphasis is on the practice of constructive journalism.

Throughout my career, I've embraced a multitude of roles, including those of a reporter, editor, team leader, documentary maker, scriptwriter, and producer. One facet of my work that I find particularly engaging is election coverage. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to report on parliamentary elections in diverse locations, spanning Bangladesh, India, Germany, France, and Turkey. This wealth of experience encompasses a wide spectrum of elections, ranging from local government to national polls."

At present, my primary focus lies within the realm of environmental concerns, with a particular emphasis on climate-related matters and displacement.
